Seadrift Cottage has 4 bedrooms and began its life as a holiday cottage, built in 1917 for the Reverend Forrest and his family. From early photographs the house had uninterrupted views of the beach which could be enjoyed from the expansive verandah on the eastern side of the house. Foliage and neighbouring houses now obscure some of the views of the beach but the northerly aspect allows for views down across the town and valley. The wide verandah provides a sheltered spot for lazing, reading, dreaming and a pleasant spot for outdoor meals under the soft romantic glow of an old chandelier! Meals can also be enjoyed on the back patio with a lovely view. A BBQ is available along with an outdoor table setting. Seadrift has been lovingly restored and furnished with cottage treasures, including brass beds, pine dressers and a superb open fireplace for those chilly winter nights. Modern amenities such as the aerospa, gas heaters, microwave etc, ensure your break from city pressures is easy, and above all, relaxing. After your bath, snuggle into your comfy bed, forget the rest and drift off to the most perfect nights sleep. Tomorrow you may want to discover Anglesea, the beaches and the bush. Golfing, swimming, sailing, bush walking, fishing...or maybe absolutely NOTHING!! |
Seascape Cottage was built in the 1950's. Seascape is a colourful reminder of a time when home decorating took on a new look, an indulgence in form for fun, and not just practicality. This three bedroom cottage is a comfortable mix of pieces from the 1930's through to the 1990's and has been put together to produce the "retro" style of the cottage. Everything you need is provided, some stylish, some practical, to fit in with the retro theme. Facing north, the deck ensures a pleasant relaxing area, complete with BBQ, outdoor table setting and lovely views of the beach. A cosy spot in the winter, catching the warmth of the low lying sun as it slowly passes by. A true open fireplace makes it cosy inside when the night air is crisp and there is nothing better to do than to curl up on the couch and snooze by the flickering flames. You can become so relaxed, you'll want to stay longer. The deep aero spa bath allows for some private thinking time. Close your eyes and let the air bubbles gently massage, relax and soothe your body. After your bath, slip in between the crisp white sheets for a perfect nights sleep, restoring your energy for the next days activity - golfing, swimming, sailing, surfing, bush walking. This cottage also has wheelchair access. |
