Anglesea Accommodation : A selection of unique accommodation venues in Anglesea.
Anglesea
is just ten minutes drive west of Torquay along the Great Ocean Road.
Like most of the small townships which are dotted along the Great
Ocean Road, Anglesea can play host to a wide variety of outdoor activities.
Numerous beaches, most of which are extremely safe for swimming,
and the Anglesea River provide the scene for a host of activities.
For families, the main surf beach at Anglesea, just off the Great
Ocean Road, is patrolled in summer and for those who are looking
for something a little more private you don't have to look far. There
are also a few good locations for the surfers and for anglers there
is the choice of either beach rods or finer gear in the river. The
river can provide good Bream fishing on occasion and upstream for
the more patient a few timid trout may be found. Point Roadknight
is just around the corner from Anglesea. This is also patrolled in
summer and is one of the finest beaches along the coast. Some popular
river activities include paddle boats, canoes and windsurfers - all
of which can be hired locally. The Sunday Anglesea market on the river
is immensely popular offering fantastic food and local arts and crafts.
If you like golf then a round on the Anglesea Golf Course is a must.
This course has a resident mob of kangaroos and they think they own
the place. There are also of course a wide selection of cafes and restaurants
to choose from. And Anglesea has a wide range of accommodation options;
from numerous backpackers, caravan parks and beachfront motels to charming
bed and breakfasts and magnificently rustic cottages and apartments.
Whatever it is you are looking for you're sure to find it here. Please
make sure however, that during peak seasons that you book well in advance
as Anglesea is one of the most visited locations on the Great Ocean
Road. As a result of this there is an ever increasing amount of accommodation
but it always pays to book well in advance. Anglesea Accommodation:
